About the Avalon Q
The Avalon Q puts farm-class hashrate into a living space: 90 terahashes a second, about what an Antminer S19 does, in a box Canaan sells to run from a normal wall socket. It has power modes. Canaan's shop lists 1,674 W at full power and lower modes of about 800, 1,300 and 1,600 W, so the same machine can run quieter and cooler when the room does not need the heat.
Noise is what sets it apart. Canaan quotes 45 dB at its quietest mode, far below the 76 dBA of an air-cooled Antminer at full fan, and the higher modes are louder. At 18.6 joules per terahash at full power it is efficient as well: close to an Antminer S21 and well ahead of an S19.
Even from a wall socket, 1.6 kW is a large share of a household circuit, so check what else shares it before plugging in. And it turns all of that electricity into heat: welcome in winter, a problem in a small room in summer.
Solo, one Avalon Q is about 75 Bitaxe Gammas of hashrate. It is set up from Canaan's app or web panel and connects to any SHA-256 pool. On SoloLuck it mines to your own Bitcoin address with no fee, and the whole reward of any block it finds goes straight to that address.
Mine solo with it on SoloLuck
Point the Avalon Q at SoloLuck with these three settings in its own web panel or app:
- Pool URL
stratum+tcp://stratum.sololuck.io:4334- Username
- your own Bitcoin address, optionally followed by a dot and a worker name (
bc1q….rig1) - Password
x(anything works)
Port 4334 is the Pro tier, for big ASICs, farms and rented hashrate (Braiins Hashpower) (min & start 1,048,576). Port 3333, the Lite tier the setup wizard uses for every ASIC, works too: its difficulty rises on its own to match the machine.
There is no fee and no account. If it solves a block, the network pays the whole reward straight to your address: SoloLuck never holds it. The setup wizard walks through it step by step.

Quick answers
Can one Avalon Q find a Bitcoin block on its own?
Yes: every hash is a fresh draw, so any miner can. At today's difficulty one Avalon Q would expect a block about once every 210 years, a 1 in 78,000 chance on any given day, and most never find one.
How much does the Avalon Q earn a day?
On average, about $3.26 a day at today's difficulty and Bitcoin price, before electricity. At $0.10 per kWh its power costs $4.02 a day, so it nets −$0.76. Solo mining pays that average as a whole block or nothing.
How do I solo mine with a Avalon Q?
Set the pool URL to stratum+tcp://stratum.sololuck.io:4334, the username to your own Bitcoin address (a dot and a worker name are optional) and the password to anything. SoloLuck charges no fee, and a block it finds pays the whole reward straight to your address.
How much power does the Avalon Q use?
1674 W (shop); modes 800 / 1300 / 1600 W, by the figures linked on this page.
